Wollaston Lake Lodge is an Orvis Endorsed catch and release fishing lodge in Northern Saskatchewan. For over 24 years, we have hosted world class fishing trips for our guests from the beginning of June until the end of August. On average there is about 50 guests in camp at a time and we will host up to 800 guests in a season.
We are currently looking to fill our summer 2024 positions! The 2024 position will run from the end of May to end of August. We offer a great way to earn and save money over the summer! You must be passionate about the outdoors and customer hospitality. Successful candidates must be able to work independently, part of a team, and must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
The right server uplifts the dining experience for customers. We are looking for someone who will have the patience, personality, and perseverance to thrive in this role.
The Server’s responsibilities include greeting and serving guests, providing detailed information on daily menus, serving alcohol, multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties, and assisting team members in a fast-paced environment. To be a successful Server, you should be polite with our guests and passionate about what you do. You should also be a team player and be able to effectively communicate with our Kitchen Team to make sure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Greet and escort guests to their tables
· Provide excellent customer service to guests
· Serve food and drink orders
· Present daily menus and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
· Polish all dining room glassware and silverware
· Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
· Inform customers about the day’s specials
· Offer wine and beverage recommendations upon request
· Up-sell additional products when appropriate
· Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software
· Communicate order details and dietary reports to the Kitchen Staff
· Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
· Clear plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
· Meet as a team to review daily specials, changes on the menu, cleaning duties, and special events
· Follow all relevant health department regulations
· Clean and sanitize dining room prior to breakfast and dinner services
· Clean, sanitize, and polish server stations and equipment in kitchen
· Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms in the main lodge
QUALIFICATIONS
· Serving Experience: 1 Year
· Hospitality: 1 Year (Preferred)
· Legal Drinking age in Saskatchewan is 19 years old. Must be able to perform the job requirements and service alcohol without any assistance.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
· Active listening and effective communication skills
· Work well unsupervised
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests.
· Hard worker
· Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend for an entire 10-hour shift. Tasks require consistent use of both arms and legs.
· Must be able to handle all physical aspects of the job, which include lifting/moving heavy equipment (approx. 50 lbs)
· Must be authorized to work in the Canada on a full-time basis for any employer.
