About the Role
Position Summary
The Inbound Planner will analyze demand data and determine the procurement quantity of raw materials in support of daily production schedules. Using forecast, market intelligence and actual customer requirements, the inbound Planner will determine and monitor daily, monthly, and annual raw material plans. They will issue raw material releases from suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, while maintaining inventory levels that meet the company’s production and inventory management goals. They will follow up with suppliers on confirmations as well as any late orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze demand data and determine the procurement quantity of raw materials in support of daily production schedules.
- Using forecast provided by Demand Planning and actual customer requirements, determine and monitor daily, monthly, and annual raw material plans.
- Issue raw material releases from suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, while maintaining inventory levels that meet the company’s production and inventory management goals.
- Follow up with suppliers on confirmations as well as any late orders.
- Act as liaison with Strategic Procurement and investigate and settle price discrepancies between vendor and Procurement to insure the proper flow of the purchase order process.
- Settle all purchase order discrepancies including rejections, invoicing issues, and receiving issues. Ensure that rejected materials are returned to the supplier as expeditiously as possible.
- Maintain appropriate parameters for Raw Materials, as minimum order quantity, lead-times and safety stocks, to ensure timely purchases of raw materials for production.
- Recommend disposition of obsolete raw materials based on input from Inventory Management reports & Planning management.
- Perform all duties and special projects identified by the VP of Supply Chain.
About You
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in raw material and packaging purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Preference will be given to those with this experience within the Flavor, Fragrance, Food Ingredients or related industries.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) with particular emphasis on strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills are a must.
- Experience with SAP or other similar ERP systems is desired.
- APICS or NAPM (ISM) certification is a plus.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The expected annual salary range for this position is CAD 55000.00 – CAD 65000.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
