Reporting to the Director, International Education and English Language Institute (“Director”), the incumbent provides support and carries out strategic directions established by Director for international student recruitment, business development, and client and institutional relationship management with the goal of increasing enrollments, seeking out business development opportunities and increasing revenue. The role requires extensive and lengthy international and domestic travel. With a keen understanding of the market, the incumbent develops recruiting strategies to maximize market reach and impact. At the end of each cycle, the incumbent assesses results and identifies opportunities for improvement.

Education:
Undergraduate degree in a related field, such as business, marketing, communications: MBA preferred.

Experience:
3 to 5 years of progressively more responsible related strategic experience, including setting goals and objectives, coordination, and planning in a cost recovery or profit-centred department/institution in an international student recruitment role with additional online marketing and/or business development experience required; A superior record of generating new business and building/maintaining client relationships in existing and new market sectors is required; Demonstrated experience in international marketing communications and strategy; Hands-on experience moving programs from inception to completion, and knowledgeable in every phase of work from marketing research to strategy development, to objective setting, to performance management, to budget setting, monitoring and maintenance; Experience in new client identification and relationship development/maintenance in the domestic and, in particular, international arenas; Experience in ESL student recruitment and business development in the international education market specifically would be preferred.

Strong relationship builder and maintenance skills; demonstrates commitment, initiative, and a strong creative ability; Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; Ability to juggle multiple conflicting priorities; Ability to write, read and comprehend complex documents (e.g. contracts, proposals, tenders); Critical attention to detail is required for the preparation of bid documents; Initiate contract negotiations, effective negotiating skills, contract development and liaising with E.O. and Legal to ensure compliance; Strong persuasive skills; An understanding of international student markets and an appreciation of the language learning needs of international students; Analytical, well organized, and focused on client needs and customer service; Must show a profound ability to work collegially with peers and take direction from senior management teams; Must be a team player who is able to deal effectively with highly diverse and demanding communities both nationally and internationally; Preference would be given to individuals who are capable of doing business in one or more of the following languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Korean, Spanish, Vietnamese, or Russian.
