Rafat is one of Ontario’s fastest-growing general contractors, with a reputation for excellence in infrastructure, civil construction, and fleet operations. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Float Driver to transport heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently across the Greater Toronto and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a truck and 53’ float trailer to load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and other construction machinery.
- Safely maneuver equipment on and off the trailer using ramps or winch systems.
- Perform and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Ensure proper tie-down, weight distribution, and compliance with load limits and CVOR regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of delivery/pickup logs and inspection reports.
- Work closely with dispatch, supervisors, and site crews to coordinate equipment moves and timelines.
Requirements:
- Valid AZ, DZ, or CZ license (air brake endorsement required).
- Proven experience transporting heavy equipment using a float trailer.
- Knowledge of equipment tie-down procedures, CVOR compliance, and transport safety standards.
- Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR preferred.
- Availability for early morning, evening, or weekend deliveries as needed.
