Express Employment Professionals is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing distribution company in Abbotsford, BC.
Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer with a strong background in purchasing finished goods within a wholesale, distribution, retail, or B2B environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys inventory analysis, vendor management, and making strategic purchasing decisions that directly impact product performance and profitability.
This is not a manufacturing procurement role. We are specifically seeking candidates with experience purchasing finished consumer products and managing inventory flow within a distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Purchasing
- Manage purchasing and replenishment for assigned product lines
- Analyze inventory levels, sales trends, and forecasting data
- Ensure products remain in stock while minimizing excess inventory
- Monitor lead times, supply risks, and purchasing opportunities
- Create and manage accurate purchase orders
Vendor & Product Management
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Support pricing, promotions, and product lifecycle planning
- Monitor margins, inventory turns, and product performance
- Identify slow-moving inventory and support clearance strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales and operations teams
- Provide product and inventory insights to support business decisions
- Support ongoing communication between departments and vendors
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, or inventory management
- Experience purchasing finished goods in a wholesale, retail, or distribution environment
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
- Experience with vendor management and inventory planning
- Power BI experience is considered an asset
- Experience in consumer products, hobby, sporting goods, or related industries is considered an asset
