Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. This role requires a strong focus on vehicle safety, efficient route management, and adherence to transportation regulations. Candidates with skills in heavy equipment operation, automotive repair, and forklift operation are highly valued to support various logistical needs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when required to ensure vehicle operational readiness.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Assist with warehouse operations including forklift operation for loading and unloading cargo.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as forklifts is preferred.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting is a plus.
- Experience with freight handling, loading/unloading procedures, and safety compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Good communication skills and a commitment to safety standards.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
