Cement Mason Journeyperson
Wage Range: As per collective agreement $47.49
Location: Campbell River, BC. John Dam
CHC is a wholly owned subsidiary of BC Hydro formed in 1962 that provides the qualified skilled trades workforce for generation facility projects in the Province of British Columbia named in a collective agreement between CHC and the Allied Hydro Council of British
Columbia. CHC provides the labour resources in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective agreement and provides other human resources and labour relations functions.
Position Summary:
CHC/Aecon EBC is seeking an experienced Cement Mason Journeyperson
Key Responsibilities:
- Concrete finishing both wet and dry.
- Participate in daily tailboards, safety meetings, and comply with Site Safety Management Plan requirements.
- Adhere to environmental, security, and site access requirements per project specifications.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Member in good standing with Cement Mason Union Local 919 or willing to join.
- Must have BC Provincial Trade Qualification or Interprovincial Red Seal.
- Experience with heavy civil infrastructure projects preferred.
- Working from heights and uneven terrain.
- Fall Pro required
- Monday to Friday with potential weekends and shift work
Work Environment:
- Active hydroelectric dam facility.
- This is a unionized position under Cement Masons Local 919, subject to applicable collective agreement (CHC) terms, Aecon site safety requirements, and BC Hydro project specifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $47.49 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Campbell River, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
