We are looking for a people-focused, patient, experienced Café Attendant to join our Dining Services Team. If you enjoy providing friendly and efficient service and creating a welcoming environment, this could be a great opportunity for you. Responsibilities for this vacant position include preparing and serving food and beverages, operating the POS system, handling cash, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and ensuring the Café runs smoothly. This is a highly independent role – running the café independently - however the larger dining services team and leadership are always on site.

Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written
- Minimum one year of related experience in retail industry
- Customer service experience
- Exceptional listening and communication skills
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills
- Food Handler Certificate
- Knowledge of POS system an asset
- Track record of reliability and punctuality
- Detail oriented with exceptional time management skills
Main Responsibilities:
- Open and close the café
- Operate the cash register/POS system
- Accurate ring in of proper PLU for sale items and/or barcode scan
- Take orders and provide the highest quality of service to customers
- Maintain proper security of cash
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, and food items
- Ensure food and other ingredients are fresh
- Inform costumers about menu items and specials of the day
- Wash dishes, clean and sanitize service and seating area
- Set up and stock the beverage area, prepare grab and go items, service ware and condiments
- Receive, lift, and move cafe supplies/goods
- Prepare order list and submit to the Executive Chef
- Provide security for all shop items and cash
- Check and record fridge and freezer temperature
- Other duties as assigned
