Nancy's is a small-batch, independent bakery nestled on the waterfront in Lund on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. We’re known for our cosy home made product, seasonal specials, and world-class view.
Our ingredients are local and organic when they can be, and always chosen with care. The vibe? Laid-back but dialled in.
THE GIG
As a Bakers Assistant, you’ll be a core part of our crew. You’ll help shape the heart of what we do as we look to modernize and refine—creating consistently beautiful breads, pastries, and baked goods that keep people coming back.
You’ll need to love the rhythm of early mornings, the satisfaction of getting your hands in dough, and the buzz of being part of a tight, passionate team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Mix, shape, and bake artisan breads, sourdoughs, and daily specials
- Work with laminated doughs.
- Prep seasonal rotating menu items.
- Maintain consistency, quality, and creativity in all products.
- Manage proofing and baking schedules like a pro.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe.
- Pitch in on new recipe ideas or menu items if that’s your jam.
- Occasionally engage with customers or front-of-house staff—being kind, communicative, and good-humored matters here.
WHO YOU ARE
- You’ve got experience in a professional bakery or pastry setting.
- You know your way around sourdough, prefer natural fermentation, and appreciate quality ingredients.
- Early mornings don’t scare you (3-4 am starts are common).
- You work clean, move fast, and stay calm under pressure.
- You’re reliable, self-motivated, and work well both solo and in a team.
- You're cool with a non-corporate vibe—our systems are evolving, and your input matters.
- Bonus points if you have good music taste.
