Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative (Full-Time)

At Merivale Cat Hospital, we're dedicated to providing exceptional feline care in a compassionate, friendly environment. We're looking for a motivated, upbeat individual to join our team full-time as a Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representative. Priority will be given to individuals that are Certified Veterinary Assistants, or who have previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or CSR in a veterinary clinic.

About the Role
As an important member of our team, you'll help create a positive experience for both our clients and their feline companions. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional client service in person, over the phone, and by email
- Scheduling appointments to ensure excellent patient care and efficient workflow
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and sterile hospital environment
- Unpacking and organizing inventory, including lifting large bags and cases of pet food
- Supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day clinic operations
We're Looking for Someone Who:
- Has a Veterinary Assistant diploma or previous experience in customer service, reception, or a veterinary clinic
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail
- Can multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Is mature, reliable, and proactive in anticipating the needs of clients and the clinic
- Has outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Is enthusiastic, eager to learn, and committed to providing exceptional care
- Has flexible availability
Preferred Qualifications
Priority will be given to applicants who have:
- Graduated from a Veterinary Assistant program, and/or
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic as a Veterinary Assistant or Client Service Representative (CSR)
Schedule
This is a full-time, permanent position working 32–40 hours per week.
Our hospital is open six days a week, and applicants must be available to work:
- Day and evening shifts
- Saturdays
- Additional shifts during holidays and summer vacation periods, as needed
Applicants may also be required to work at both clinic locations when necessary.
