Developmental Service Worker / Home Support Worker
Job Summary
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and positive Developmental Service Worker (DSW), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or Support Worker to join our home-based care team.
This position supports one individual with disabilities in a private home setting. The role focuses on promoting independence, building confidence, encouraging community involvement, and providing support with daily living activities while creating a positive, respectful, and welcoming environment.
We are seeking someone who is kind, patient, energetic, and able to work independently. The ideal candidate understands the importance of dignity, inclusion, and person-centered care and enjoys helping others live their best life.
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Provide support with personal care as needed
- Assist with medication routines and documentation
- Support community outings, appointments, shopping, and recreational activities
- Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and support
- Follow individualized routines, schedules, and care plans
- Complete daily documentation and communication logs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive home environment
- Support participation in social, recreational, and community activities
- Work collaboratively while respecting the individual’s preferences, choices, and goals
- Assist with occasional pet-related tasks in a pet-friendly home
- Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing daily needs
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or special needs is considered an asset
- DSW, PSW, Social Service Worker, Educational Assistant, Health Care Aide, or related experience preferred
- Students currently enrolled in related programs are welcome to apply
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment
- Comfortable working in a private home environment
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset but not required
- Medication administration experience is an asset; training may be provided

Pay: $25-$28 per hour plus applicable travel compensation.
