Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and possess a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols. This role involves operating hydrovac trucks to perform excavation tasks with precision and efficiency, supporting various infrastructure projects. Candidates with knowledge of dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, and grader operation are highly preferred. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring mechanical expertise and heavy equipment handling in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks to excavate soil and debris safely and accurately across construction sites.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of hydrovac units and associated machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
- Assist with site setup, including the placement of barriers, signage, and safety equipment.
- Support other construction activities such as paving, horizontal drilling, or general excavation as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of operations, including hours worked and materials used.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to project timelines.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as hydrovacs,
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations for operating large trucks or specialized vehicles.
- Strong understanding of construction site workflows and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks safely. Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
