Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and shipping & receiving processes. Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse management systems are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, supporting construction, manufacturing, or distribution operations.
Duties
- Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as forklifts, crane, clamp truck, and other heavy machinery
- Pick and pack orders accurately utilizing order picker and other warehouse tools
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Manage inventory by organizing stock in designated areas and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including verifying shipments and preparing items for dispatch
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to handle large or bulky items safely
- Support construction or manufacturing operations by providing timely material support
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all material handling activities to prevent accidents or injuries
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related fields
- Mechanical knowledge and experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and order pickers
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking and stock management
- Experience working with heavy equipment operation in construction or industrial settings is preferred
- Prior experience in warehouse management or logistics is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards and accuracy
