About the Account Manager Position
As an Account Manager, you will be accountable primarily for project success and client satisfaction. You will lead project execution as the primary client point of contact. You will work with the Account Director to support business development and nurture ongoing client relationships. You will be strategically minded, a team player, responsive, humble in nature, and have a special passion for client service.
In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with medical leads and vendors on a variety of project types across medical education, medical affairs and commercial. You will prepare for and lead weekly client calls, liaise with and compile updates for the internal project team, and manage complex client discussions when necessary.
Successful applicants will have 1-2 years of experience at a medical communications agency in account management, ideally with a scientific or medical writing background.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Build and deepen client relationships through day-to-day engagement and top-notch project execution.

Serve as the primary client contact, proactively addressing questions on scope, timelines, and project status.

Lead weekly client calls and send concise updates to report progress and next steps.

Research and share key therapeutic-area and brand information to keep the team aligned.

Support the Account Director in complex client discussions, including scope changes, as needed.

Autonomously develop and track project timelines, budgets, and invoicing; lead kick-offs and ensure adherence to scope.

Manage vendor relationships and internal communication across teams.

Oversee project closure, including budget reconciliation, debriefs, and client communication on changes or delays.

Engage in strategic discussions to grow accounts and identify new opportunities.

Stay informed on industry updates, new approvals, and client preferences to strengthen strategy and relationships.
You will be successful in this role if you have:

A graduate-level degree in health science or similar, ideally with experience in creating and interpreting medical content.

1-2 years of experience in a medical communications agency in a client-facing role such as Account Manager, Account Associate, or similar.

Passion for client service and ability to approach situations with confidence and client satisfaction at the forefront.

A positive, supportive attitude and a demonstrated desire to go the extra mile for clients and the team internally.

A clear and direct communication style with both clients, and the internal team, leading with helpfulness and transparency.

An ability and desire to take true ownership and responsibility for client relationships and success of projects.

A desire to lead and mentor junior team members with enthusiasm, leaning on your industry experience

Knowledge of project management basics and a sense of urgency to deliver quality projects on time and within scope.

Interest in business development, lead generation, and sales. Strong desire and motivation to grow within the company.
What We Offer

Starting base salary of 70,000 CAD to 85,000 CAD, proportionate with experience and qualifications.

The Interview Process

A preliminary interview with the Medical Director and Sr Account Manager. During this interview, we will learn more about your background and experience, share details about the position, and answer any questions you may have.

Successful candidates can expect a second in-person interview, which will include the Account Director, Sr Account Manager, Medical Director, and Business Unit Director. During this interview, candidates will have the opportunity to deliver a 5-minute slide-based presentation on a topic of their choice.
