Join our team at Sparkling Hill Resort! We have an opportunity available within our Food & Beverage department for the position of Fine Dining Server at PeakFine Restaurant.
The qualities that define a successful Fine Dining Server at Sparkling Hill Resort include a professional demeanor, polished appearance, and high personal standard in all aspects of service execution. Attention to detail when it comes to guest service should come naturally, as well as a keen eye for cleanliness. The atmosphere in the restaurant is created and upheld by the team members on shift, and so if you are one who understands how to balance effective operations with nuanced, high quality service, then we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Attend to guest requests, being constantly aware of anticipating guests' needs
- Ownership of your section- ensuring all cutlery and glass is polished, cutlery and napkins are in line, all items are correctly placed
- Maintain thorough menu knowledge in order to answer questions accurately
- Participate in daily team meetings to review specials, menu changes, and information regarding the day's service
- Proper table service including wine
- Set a strategic pace for your service to ensure appropriate timing when touching on tables, calling orders and delivering items
- Ensure tables are promptly cleared so that plates do not sit empty in front of guests
- Consistently ensure basic dining standards are met including water refills, serving food from the left, food descriptions, proper billing (never with plates on the table) etc.
- Assist with plated and buffet style banquets and functions as required
- Resolve any guest concerns promptly and professionally and escalate to the appropriate manager if necessary
- Record and enter orders accurately, ensuring any special requests or allergies are communicated thoroughly
- Deliver food and drinks to tables according to seating plan
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Maintain a professional and friendly attitude at all times
- Must strive in a fast paced environment
- High attention to detail
- Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management
- Previous knowledge of SilverWare POS system an asset
- Thorough knowledge of wine in order to make accurate recommendations
- Previous experience
- Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays including overtime as required
- Valid Serving-It-Right certificate

Staff accommodation is potentially available on site at a low rate of $125 bi-weekly in double rooms for full time Sparkling Hill employees, working 40 hours per week.
