Job Overview:
Midland Food is a dynamic and growing seafood wholesale distributor serving the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in delivering high-quality frozen seafood and food products to restaurants, retail markets and other food service businesses.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations across warehouse, inventory management, logistics, sales coordination and procurement. This is a hands-on role suited for a candidate who is operationally strong, detail-oriented and capable of working in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations across warehouse, inventory, logistics, sales and procurement
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and staff to ensure efficient receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch processes
- Monitor inventory levels, stock accuracy and product movement, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing shrinkage
- Work with the purchasing team to plan replenishment based on inventory levels and sales demand
- Oversee logistics planning to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution
- Support sales operations by coordinating order processing, customer requirements and follow-ups
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product availability and smooth order fulfillment
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control and service quality
- Assist the General Manager in implementing operational procedures, SOPs and internal controls
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in operations, logistics, supply chain or warehouse-related roles
- Experience in food distribution or wholesale environment is required
- Experience in inventory management and logistics coordination is an asset
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to coordinate across multiple functions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is an asset
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented and results-driven
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
