Production Worker/ WoodShop
Centra Cam Social Enterprise Ltd. (CCSEL) is seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Worker to join our WoodShop team. This non-supervisory position is responsible for the production of truck and rail pipe bunks and a variety of custom wood products, including picnic tables, and other custom projects. The successful candidate will be physically capable of performing demanding manual labour, enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and be willing to temporarily support other CCSEL locations when operational needs arise.
Responsibilities:
· Manufacture truck and rail pipe bunks and a variety of custom wood products according to specifications.
· Safely operate woodworking equipment, power tools, hand tools, and machinery.
· Measure, cut, assemble, and finish wood products while maintaining quality standards.
· Inspect completed products to ensure quality and accuracy.
· Load, unload, move, and organize lumber, materials, and finished products.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
· Complete required documentation, including production records, equipment inspections, and safety forms.
· Follow all CCSEL policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
· Attend meetings and required training.
· Assist other CCSEL departments and locations as operational needs require.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Experience in woodworking, carpentry, manufacturing, construction, or a related production environment is considered an asset.
· Forklift Certification is considered an asset.
· Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract.
· First Aid/CPR Certification considered an asset.
· Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to safely operate power tools and woodworking equipment.
· Ability to read and follow work instructions and measurements.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Effective time management and organizational skills.
· Knowledge of basic health and safety practices.
Requirements:
· Acceptable Police Information Check
· Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent lifting and carrying of materials weighing over 75 lbs, as well as pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, gripping, and standing throughout the workday.
· Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
· Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and steel toed safety boots.
· All employees at this facility are required to undergo periodic hearing evaluations.
· Ability to work a rotating schedule, including every second Saturday.
· Willingness to temporarily work at other CCSEL locations as operational needs require.
Wages are dependent on qualifications, education & experience (7.5 hr/day).
Centra Cam offers a benefits package after 3 months of successful employment.
