Position Overview
Patenaude Martial Arts is seeking an energetic, responsible, and positive Summer Camp Leader to help create an exciting and safe experience for children attending our martial arts summer camps. The ideal candidate enjoys working with kids, thrives in a team environment, and is passionate about leadership, fitness, and helping children build confidence.
This role includes supervising campers, assisting with martial arts activities, organizing games and daily camp activities, and ensuring a fun and supportive atmosphere throughout the summer.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children ages 4–13 throughout daily camp activities
- Assist certified instructors with martial arts classes and drills
- Lead and assist in games, drills, team-building activities, ninja and slacklines, and themed camp events
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all campers
- Help with camper check-in/check-out procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility
- Encourage teamwork, discipline, confidence, and respect among campers
- Communicate professionally with parents and staff
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and equipment
- Support special events, outings, and camp demonstrations when needed
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Martial arts experience is an asset but not required
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Positive attitude and high energy
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/First Aid certification is preferred
- Must be able to pass a vulnerable sector/background check

Position Details
- Seasonal Summer Position
- Monday–Friday daytime hours for 5 weeks across July and August
- Paid Training provided
- Weeks: July 6-10, July 13-17, July 20-24, Aug 10-14
- Shift: Tentatively scheduled for 10am-5pm
- Week of Aug 24-28
- Shift: Tentatively scheduled for 11am-2pm
- Rate of Pay: $20.00/hour
