Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team and ensure the optimal performance and safety of our marine vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with boat engines, systems, and related equipment. The Marine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various marine engines and systems, ensuring vessels are seaworthy and compliant with safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues in marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on boats and marine equipment
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble engine components
- Conduct system tests to verify repairs and ensure proper functioning of all vessel systems
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems related to marine equipment when necessary
- Follow safety protocols and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Experience
- Proven experience working with marine engines or similar mechanical systems is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of internal combustion engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, etc., as well as power tools like drills and grinders
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides accurately
- Prior experience in boat repair or marine service is a plus but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
