Job Description
The Kincardine Family Health Team is seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join our team in the role of Bookkeeper.
The Kincardine Family Health Team (KFHT) is a group of allied healthcare professionals with a mission to provide comprehensive patient care utilizing an interdisciplinary approach that is responsive to the needs of the community. As the Bookkeeper with the KFHT, you will have an organized approach, keen eye for detail, experience managing financial data, organizational finances, and statutory compliance. The successful applicant will have knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, strong accounting skills, and be able to work with minimal supervision. This position will report to the Financial Administrator and Executive Director.
Roles and Responsibilities:
General Administration – Provide bookkeeping, data entry, clerical, and administrative support to Financial Administrator, maintain accounting files and payroll system (ADP) for employees.
Payroll Administration – Support Financial Administrator in overseeing employee time entries, payroll administration, including all internal reporting requirements and remittances.
Benefits and Pension Administration – Assist Financial Administrator in the administration of group health benefits plan and HOOPP.
Financial Administration – Assist Financial Administrator Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, account reconciliations and monthly financial reports, maintenance of petty cash funds, HST reporting, EHT Remittances.
Education / Specific Job Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in an administrative or bookkeeping related field
- Certification in bookkeeping / financial management an asset
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and record-keeping requirements and compliance and generally accepted accounting principles
- Working knowledge of accounting software (SAGE)
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in a mid-sized business setting (payroll of 25-35 employees, budget over $3 million)
- Not-for-profit experience is an asset
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience using SAGE accounting software is an asset
