Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and personable Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves both in-store and online sales. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to our cohesive team. This position also offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their e-commerce skills. Scheduling will require 2 x midweek shifts and opportunities for more hours will be available with seasonal volumes, vacations and illnesses. Ability to work the occasional weekend will be required.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with product inquiries and selections
- Provide detailed information about products and services to help customers make informed decisions
- Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems
- Pick, pack, and ship online orders
- Maintain organized displays and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting
- Assist in managing inventory levels, restocking shelves, and tracking stock movements
- Ability to work independently and to anticipate what needs to be done without major direction.
Experience
- Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Basic proficiency with cash handling and POS systems
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn about products and sales techniques
