Markdom International has a proven history of producing world-class custom injection-molded products for the automotive and consumer goods industries. We have the capability to produce an extensive variety of products with our state-of-the-art in-house injection mold design and build capabilities, coupled with the latest injection molding process technologies.
This is a full-time on-site position located in Scarborough, ON, for a Tooling Engineer. The Tooling Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tool designs and processes for injection molding operations. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing specifications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, overseeing the development and maintenance of tools, and ensuring that production runs efficiently and meets quality standards. The role requires problem-solving skills, an eye for precision, and a proactive approach to improving production efficiency.
Duties:
- Create tooling specs for RFQs, and sourcing of injection molds.
- Estimate tooling costs and support quoting activities.
- Perform manufacturing feasibility studies for plastic parts (DFM).
- Evaluate the results of mold flow and recommend best solutions.
- Review mold designs and provide feedback for improvements.
- Review engineering changes and their impacts in molds.
- Review mold repair.
- Participate in mold trials, check the quality of molds and parts, and recommend changes and adjustments.
- Ensure that tooling arrives on schedule.
- Sign off tools for shipment.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in automotive injection molding.
- Extensive experience and expertise on injection molding tooling design.
- Experience with 3D modeling software, preferably NX.
- Knowledge and experience of GD&T drawing.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
- Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent documentation, organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical knowledge of machining processes is an asset.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and MS Project

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
