Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, blueprint reading, and various welding techniques to produce high-quality metal structures and parts for diverse applications including ductwork, construction, and manufacturing projects.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications and fabrication requirements.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals, ensuring strong, clean welds that meet quality standards.
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal components.
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Rigging materials and equipment safely for lifting and positioning heavy metal parts using cranes or forklifts.
- Conduct basic math calculations for measurements, angles, and material quantities during fabrication processes.
- Assemble fabricated parts according to schematics and assembly instructions while maintaining safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean work environment by inspecting finished products for defects or inconsistencies before delivery or installation.
- Adhere to all safety procedures related to welding, machining, rigging, and general manufacturing operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG) within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as press brakes, plasma cutters, cranes, forklifts, and machining tools.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other precision measurement instruments effectively.
- Experience with ductwork fabrication or structural steel assembly is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to welding, rigging, machining, and general manufacturing practices.
- Prior experience working with schematics in construction or manufacturing settings is preferred.
