About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Placement Director to lead our Career Services department. In this role, you will build and maintain employer relationships, secure practicum and job placements for graduates, and help ensure our students successfully transition from the classroom to the workforce. You will play a key role in maintaining our college's reputation for strong graduate employment outcomes and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, clinics, and industry partners to secure practicum placements and full-time employment opportunities for graduates
- Track and report on student placement and graduate employment outcomes in accordance with Ministry of Colleges and Universities requirements
- Coordinate with academic departments to align placement opportunities with program learning outcomes
- Support students with resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies
- Maintain accurate placement records within the college's student management system
- Identify new industry partnerships to expand placement opportunities across programs (including health services, business, and technology streams)
- Represent the college at job fairs, industry events, and employer information sessions
- Prepare regular reports on placement rates and outcomes for senior leadership and regulatory audits
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to address barriers to student placement success
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree, preferably in Business, Human Resources, Career Development, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in career services, recruitment, employer relations, or a related field, ideally within the private career college or post-secondary sector
- Strong understanding of the Ontario job market and employer expectations across business, health, and technology sectors
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet reporting deadlines
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for employer visits
