Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the Clinical Engineering Department to perform safety inspection, functional and accuracy tests on infusion pumps
- Help with preventive maintenance of suction pumps, feeding pumps, thermometers, SPOT vital signs monitors and other physiological monitors and devices
- Assist with the collection and distribution of medical equipment throughout the hospital
- Troubleshoot and repair of medical devices under the supervision of a Clinical Engineering Technologist
- Assist with the inventory of equipment and spare parts
- Other tasks as seen fit by the Clinical Engineering Department.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- Demonstrates the ability to learn new concepts and adapt quickly.
- Currently enrolled in a Biomedical Engineering Technology program
- Familiarity with current clinical equipment and their applications
- Familiarity with biomedical test equipment and use of basic hand tools
- Comfortable working with a wide range of tools and electronic test equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills combined with a customer focus approach
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a dynamic team.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
