We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team in a busy, well-equipped shop. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working on heavy equipment and heavy duty trucks/transport equipment in a repair and maintenance environment.
About the Role
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and heavy duty trucks.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on heavy equipment and construction machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy equipment and trucks
- Diagnose and repair heavy duty trucks and transport vehicles
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard of quality
- Use diagnostic tools and software where required
- Accurately document work performed and parts used
- Follow workplace procedures and safety practices
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Requirements
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or equivalent experience
- Strong experience with heavy equipment repair (priority experience)
- Truck and transport repair experience considered an asset
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum; Class 1 or 3 an asset)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
