Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Millwright and/or 3rd-4th year apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, industrial maintenance expertise, and hydraulic experience to ensure the reliable operation of plant equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery and systems within a fast-paced industrial environment. The Journeyman Millwright will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems for troubleshooting automation issues.
- Operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management.
- Conduct welding repairs and modifications as needed to ensure equipment integrity.
- Assist with Compressed air systems, Piping, and other plant utilities to maintain optimal operational conditions.
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial work, mechanical systems, and electrical systems to ensure a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to coordinate repairs with minimal impact on operations.
- Support continuous improvement projects by analyzing system performance data and recommending enhancements.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of industrial maintenance practices including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, with some electrical background.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and low voltage electrical systems.
- Strong welding skills for on-site repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of Piping for compressed air systems is preferred.
- Industrial electrician experience is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment operation and repair.
- Ability to analyze complex problems quickly and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork.
- Customer service orientation to support internal clients effectively within the plant environment.
