Position Overview
Fort St. John Co-op is hiring a Director of Finance to lead the financial function for our organization. This leadership role is responsible for strategy-aligned financial stewardship, oversight of the Finance Team (Accounting, Payroll, and Administration), and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee Payroll and Administration functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and present financial reporting packages for the GM, Board, and Committees.
- Maintain internal controls, risk management processes, and audit readiness.
- Leads capital planning and financial performance analysis.
- Ensure accurate tax, regulatory, and compliance submissions.
- Responsible for leading the Finance team, including in recruitment, development & performance management.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial strategies with business performance goals.

Qualifications:
- CPA designation preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 7+ years progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial leadership.
- 5+ years experience managing multi-function finance teams (accounting, payroll, administration).
- Ability to work on-site and maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and cooperation across teams.
- Strong proficiency in financial systems, budgeting, and forecasting tools.
- Candidates possessing prior experience in JD Edwards would be considered an asset.
