JOB SUMMARY
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, banquet facilities, and meeting spaces to ensure exceptional guest experiences and the consistent delivery of high-quality food and beverage service. This hands-on leadership role directs and supports front-of-house staff while providing operational leadership during restaurant service and catered events.
Working under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, the Food & Beverage Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the restaurant and the execution of banquet and catered events. Acting as the operational lead during service, the Supervisor works closely with the culinary team while directing restaurant and banquet staff to ensure efficient operations, exceptional guest experiences, and service standards that consistently meet or exceed expectations.
Through hands-on leadership, coaching, and attention to detail, the Supervisor promotes teamwork, operational efficiency, and service excellence while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, food handling, and company standards. By balancing daily restaurant operations with successful event execution, the Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences across all food and beverage outlets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the following tasks:
· Supervise, monitor, direct and support restaurant and banquet staff throughout each shift
· Ensure efficient and professional food and beverage service
· Maintain restaurant, banquet and meeting room standards
· Authorize refunds, voids, discounts and service recovery as required
· Complete opening, closing and shift management duties
· Coordinate banquet and meeting room event execution from setup through teardown
· Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prior to each event to ensure operational readiness
· Conduct pre-event briefings with banquet staff to communicate event expectations and assignments
· Liaise with clients, meeting planners and event organizers before, during and after events
· Coordinate room setups, event timelines, and service flow
· Ensure banquet spaces are reset to hotel standards following events
· Monitor banquet service standards and guest satisfaction throughout events
· Coach, mentor and support front-of-house team members
· Conduct daily pre-shift meetings
· Delegate responsibilities and monitor performance
· Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
· Ensure staff possess menu knowledge, allergen awareness and wine service knowledge
· Promote Hilton Garden Inn and Bona Hospitality service standards
· Promote teamwork and communication between restaurant, banquet, culinary and other hotel departments
· Complete shift reports and manager pass-along notes
· Assist with inventory counts and ordering
· Ensure accurate cash handling and POS reconciliation
· Monitor compliance with liquor legislation
· Assist in maintaining departmental SOPs

Minimum Qualifications
· Supervisory experience in the restaurant industry
· Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Strong multi-tasking skills
· Physical ability to remain standing for a long period of time
· Exceptional communication, and customer service skills
· Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
· Basic cooking technique awareness and food knowledge
· Coaching and leadership skills
· Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

· Food Handling Certificate
Education Requirements
· High school diploma or GED
