We are seeking safety-focused and professional individuals to join our team as part-time Commercial Driving Instructors for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 programs. This role is best suited to experienced commercial drivers who already hold the required instructor qualifications and are confident sharing their knowledge to support the next generation of drivers. Instructors play an important part in developing safe, capable professionals prepared for success in the transportation industry. This flexible, part-time opportunity is ideal for individuals—particularly those considering semi-retirement—who are looking for meaningful work while maintaining a balanced schedule.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality driver training for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 licensing programs, including Code 07 and Code 20 endorsements
- Provide instruction in both in-vehicle and yard environments, focusing on safe driving techniques, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices
- Offer clear, constructive feedback to support student learning and skill progression
- Maintain accurate student records, training logs, and assessment documentation
- Prepare students for ICBC road tests by teaching test requirements and evaluating readiness
- Ensure all instruction aligns with ICBC standards, policies, and approved curriculum
- Promote a consistent culture of safety, professionalism, and respect
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Collaborate with administrative staff and fellow instructors to support positive student outcomes
- Maintain flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as required
Experience & Qualifications
- Valid BC Class 1 driver’s licence
- Valid ICBC Class 1 Instructor Training Certificate (ITC)
- Minimum 3 years of recent commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations or suspensions
- Experience operating a range of commercial vehicles, including manual transmissions
- Familiarity with ICBC road testing procedures and safety standards is an asset
- Previous teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience is an asset
- Comfortable working with adult learners from diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional under pressure

Pay: $29.00-$31.00 per hour
