Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the facility. The successful candidate will operate various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to support warehouse distribution operations, maintain safety standards, and contribute to overall productivity. Duties
- Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks regularly to move products and supplies with proper technique and safety precautions.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, update stock movements, and ensure accurate order picking.
- Assist with order picking activities by selecting products according to order specifications and preparing items for shipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns, reporting issues promptly.
- Support warehouse distribution processes by organizing storage areas and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow efficiency and ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers; certification is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance checks on equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution procedures and inventory management systems.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and order processing.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
