Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our ICI construction team, bringing expertise in project cost analysis, pricing strategies, and bid preparation. In this pivotal role, you will lead the estimation process for a variety of projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with project goals. Responsibilities
- Lead the development of detailed cost estimates for ICI building construction projects from initial concept through completion.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to gather project requirements and clarify scope.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as Bluebeam to prepare accurate bids efficiently.
- Conduct thorough market research to establish competitive pricing while maintaining profitability margins.
- Negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings meticulously to identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a strong background in building projects in Atlantic Canada
- Proficiency in estimating software including Bluebeam; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing and contractual terms.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, labor costs, and industry standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and present clear estimates.
- Construction experience that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of project lifecycle from bidding through execution.
