First National Fire Protection is a professionally operated, full-service fire protection and monitoring company serving commercial, industrial, and multi-residential properties across Ontario.
What the Work Involves
You will be dispatched to commercial, industrial, and multi-residential properties across the GTA and Ontario to take over existing fire alarm and security alarm systems onto our monitoring platform. This includes:
- Site assessment of existing fire alarm and security alarm panels
- Confirming panel compatibility with our monitoring platform
- Installing, programming, and commissioning cellular or IP communicators
- Connecting and testing communication pathways
- Verifying signal transmission to our central station
- Completing all required documentation and commissioning reports
- Troubleshooting and resolving communication faults on existing systems
- Coordinating with our central station for end-to-end signal verification
Panel brands you will encounter include Honeywell, DSC, Bosch, Napco, Mircom, Paradox, and others common in Ontario commercial and residential installations.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with fire alarm and/or security alarm system installation and service in Ontario
- Demonstrated experience programming and commissioning alarm communicators (cellular and/or IP)
- Solid working knowledge of at least three major panel brands (Honeywell, DSC, Bosch, Napco, Mircom, or equivalent)
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and as-built drawings
- Valid Ontario G driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- $2M commercial general liability insurance (or willing to obtain before first dispatch)
- WSIB clearance certificate
- HST registration
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience with ULC-listed monitoring takeovers specifically
- Familiarity with Ontario Fire Code monitoring requirements
- Experience with Telguard, Napco StarLink, DSC 3G/LTE, Honeywell LTE communicators
