Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Accounting & Finance Officer to support our accounting and finance operations. This role will assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, banking, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financing coordination, compliance filings, and financial reporting support.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, responsible, and comfortable working with accounting systems, financial records, and internal documentation. The ability to communicate in Mandarin is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Update bank summaries and assist with cash flow tracking.
- Record transactions in Sage 300 and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Download bank statements and assist with monthly bank reconciliations.
- Support credit card reconciliations and intercompany transfers.
- Assist with cash flow projections and related reporting.
- Prepare and coordinate monthly loan draw reports and financing-related documentation.
- Maintain loan schedules and assist with loan application or renewal packages.
- Support monthly financial statement preparation and account breakdowns.
- Reconcile and roll forward general ledger accounts.
- Review estimates, commitments, AR progress billings, and related accounting records.
- Assist with GST filings, audit/review engagement support, and tax filing documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors, lenders, lawyers, and internal departments as required.
- Review invoices, resolve invoice issues, and process AP payments through Sage 300.
- Prepare cheques, ACH, wire transfers, and bill payments as required.
- Create and maintain vendor records in Sage 300.
- Support AR progress billings, deposits, sales records, and trust account reconciliations.
- Assist with job cost reports, standard cost codes, and management accounting reports.
- Perform corporate, land title, assessment, and other searches when required.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous accounting or finance experience is an asset.
- Experience with Sage 300, Timberscan, CCS, or similar accounting/project systems is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal and external parties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Compensation and Hours
- Annual salary: CAD $55,000
- Standard working hours: 40 hours per week
