Job Summary: We're seeking a Dock Leveler and Overhead Door Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience to install, repair, and maintain dock levelers, overhead doors, and related equipment. This role is open to anyone who can fulfill the job duties listed below independently; the chosen applicants must possess the required knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and service clients without further training. If you have at least 3 years of hands-on experience installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead door systems, we want you on our team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair dock levelers, overhead garage doors, vehicle restraints, and loading ramps
- Perform maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems for dock and door equipment
- Respond to service calls in a timely manner, ensuring efficient operations at client sites
- Load and unload materials, clear debris, and maintain a safe work environment on docks and job sites
- Collaborate with the team to support company growth, including training and supervising junior techs as we expand
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards for all installations, repairs, and routine maintenance calls
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial dock levellers and overhead doors and/or 4+ years of experience as a residential garage door technician
- MUST be capable of welding
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record (abstract required)
- Strong mechanical aptitude; knowledge of tools and equipment for dock and door systems
- Able to lift heavy materials
- Willing to work in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Familiarity with Alberta safety regulations and certification programs
- Willingness to travel within Calgary and surrounding areas
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Fall arrest ticket
