Job Title: Mobile Device Management (MDM) Specialist — VMware AirWatch / SOTI MobiControl (Contract)

Location: 100% Remote (Open to candidates in Canada & USA — must be able to work EST business hours)
Compensation: $65–$110 CAD/hour, based on experience
About the Role
We are looking for 1–2 experienced Mobile Device Management (MDM) specialists to support a time-sensitive platform migration project. The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise managing and building out both VMware Workspace ONE (AirWatch) and SOTI MobiControl, and — critically — has direct experience migrating device fleets between these two platforms in either direction.
This is a fully remote, fast-moving engagement with a tight timeline. Candidates based in Canada or the USA who can be presented and onboarded quickly will be prioritized.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and manage VMware AirWatch (Workspace ONE) and/or SOTI MobiControl environments end-to-end
- Build and maintain configuration profiles, application configurations, and software packages
- Design and implement device policies (security, compliance, enrollment, etc.)
- Lead or support migration of device fleets between AirWatch and MobiControl (in either direction)
- Produce clear, reusable documentation, including:
- Platform configuration/setup guides
- Device migration SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Troubleshoot platform and device-level issues during buildout and migration
- Collaborate with internal IT/security stakeholders to align configurations with organizational policy
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven hands-on experience with VMware AirWatch/Workspace ONE platform administration
- Proven hands-on experience with SOTI MobiControl platform administration
- Direct experience with AirWatch ↔ MobiControl migrations (either direction) — this is a must-have, not a nice-to-have
- Strong knowledge of MDM concepts: enrollment, config profiles, app management, package building, policy/compliance rules
- Ability to produce professional technical documentation and SOPs
- Must be available to work Eastern Time (EST) business hours
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience across multiple device OS platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, rugged devices)
- Prior consulting/contract experience with fast turnaround projects
- Certifications in Workspace ONE and/or SOTI MobiControl
