Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 321-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Vice President Integrated Health Delivery Systems & Chief Clinical Supports Officer is currently seeking a Director Health Systems Integration and Ambulatory Services. The purpose of the position is to provide strategic and operational leadership for innovative clinical programs, partnerships, and system integration initiatives that advance Waypoint's Strategic Plan priorities to Lead and Serve. This includes championing, evidence-based therapies in ambulatory services, and collaborative models such as the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program and the Central Ontario Specialized Health Network. The role oversees the Health Systems Integration, Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program, Outpatient Services, Neuromodulation and the development, implementation, and growth of programs and partnerships—working with internal teams, regional and provincial partners, and multi-sectoral stakeholders to improve access, quality, and coordination of care across the system.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
Strategic & System Leadership – Provide vision, direction, and leadership for innovative clinical programs (e.g. Outpatient Services, Neuromodulation), system integration initiatives, and partnerships that advance Waypoint’s Strategic Plan and priorities to Lead and Serve. Champion the use of technology, evidence-based therapies, and collaborative models to improve access, quality, and coordination of care across the OH Central Region and beyond.

Ontario Structured Psychotherapy Program (OSP) – Provide oversight and leadership for the North-Central OSP Network, including partnership development, governance representation, funding stewardship, and performance monitoring. Mentor and guide the NLO team to deliver high-quality, accessible services in collaboration with partner organizations.

Partnership Development & Stakeholder Relations – Build and sustain effective relationships with government, hospitals, primary care, community mental health and addictions agencies, education, and other sectors. Co-design integrated models of care with patients, caregivers, and providers. Seek opportunities for cross-OHT collaboration and shared initiatives

Program Oversight & Accountability – Set program goals, establish performance measures, and ensure outcomes are achieved. Oversee budgets, resource allocation, compliance with funding agreements, and reporting requirements. Use data-driven evaluation frameworks to monitor performance, inform decision-making, and drive quality improvement.

Organizational Leadership – Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to direct reports and matrixed teams. Foster a culture of evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and equity, diversity, and inclusion. Support employees through change using principles of change leadership and positive labour relations.

- Quality, Safety & Compliance – Promote patient and staff safety, ensure compliance with legislation and hospital policies, and embed recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care principles into all programs and initiatives.Actively embraces and seeks opportunities for quality improvements, grounded in data-driven evidence and in alignment with Waypoint values, to improve department and corporate performance.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field
- Master's Degree in a related field
- Membership in a health care regulatory college or equivalent workplace experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience
- Preference for certification in Health Leadership, Project Management, Certified Health Executive, LEAN or Six-Sigma
- Strong knowledge of population health, health equity, system integration, and multidisciplinary, team-based models of care.
- Proven track record in building and sustaining strategic stakeholder relationships across sectors, including engaging patients and caregivers in co-design of services.
- Demonstrated experience in program planning, budgeting, and financial management, including tracking and reporting key performance metrics to funders and provincial ministries.
- Expertise in measurement, evaluation, and continuous improvement of program outcomes.
- Skilled in leading and motivating teams—both direct reports and diverse internal/external contributors—in complex, multi-partner environments.
- Understanding of regional and provincial health system partners, priorities, and policy environments.
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values (Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation)
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills.
