Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner for a 12 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office.
Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner - Job Description:
The P6 Project Scheduler/Planner will be responsible for planning and scheduling key Work Packages across the Minor Warships and Auxiliary Vessels (MWAV) Program. This role will primarily focus on the Planning/Scheduling requirements of the MCDV Disposals project and how it aligns with broader MWAV objectives.
Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner - Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining detailed integrated project schedules in Primavera P6.
- Translating engineering scope into structured WBS, activities, logic, and milestones.
- Facilitating scheduling/planning workshops with engineering, project, and functional stakeholders.
- Establishing and maintaining schedule baselines and supporting formal change control.
- Performing schedule quality checks and analyzing schedule variance and impacts.
- Identifying schedule risks related to design and implementation activities.
- Supporting the established business delivery rhythm through timely updates and accurate forecasting.
Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner - Mandatory Skills:
- Undergraduate qualifications or equivalent training in Business, Engineering, or Project Management.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in scheduling/planning roles.
- Strong understanding of scheduling/planning best practices.
- Competent user of Primavera P6.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Earned Value principles and techniques.
Primavera P6 Scheduler/Planner – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (Schedule/Cost).
- Prior experience in Engineering or Defense industry.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and familiarity with Power Query or BI tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Defence Sector.
- PMI-SP or similar credentials.
