Position Details
Nason Contracting Group Ltd. is currently seeking Carpenter Forepersons to work on various projects in Vancouver, BC.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Benefits and RRSP Provided As Per Collective Agreement
- Rate: $45.91
What You Will Be Working On
The Carpenter Journeyperson is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient construction and installation of architectural, structural, and interior components on commercial construction sites. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced project environment while maintaining high safety standards.
- Lead and supervise a team of carpenters, laborers, and subtrades performing construction activities.
- Coordinate daily tasks, schedules, and manpower to ensure work progresses efficiently.
- Work closely with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to align interior scopes with overall project timelines.
- Oversee interior framing, backing, blocking, door and hardware installation, architectural elements, and finishing‑related scopes.
- Enforce all safety policies and lead daily toolbox meetings, FLRAs, and site safety practices.
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are used safely and maintained properly.
- Conduct quality checks and oversee corrections or rework when necessary.
- Maintain detailed daily reports, time tracking, and site documentation.
- Identify and resolve construction challenges promptly.
- Coordinate with other trades to avoid conflicts and maintain workflow.
- Communicate changes, delays, or issues to site leadership proactively.
What We Are Looking For
- Valid Journeyperson certificate in the trade of Carpentry
- Must have at least 5 years of commercial experience
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS 2015
- Extensive knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
- The ability to lift, carry and handle weight up to 50lbs
- Must be organized, self-driven, and have ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
