Overview
We are seeking Casual compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home care, and hospice environments. Shifts are split and are shorter. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the well-being and independence of clients, especially those with disabilities, dementia, or requiring senior care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized caregiving and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision
- Support with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Help clients with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting to ensure safety for both clients and staff
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and family members
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care is preferred
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and medication administration protocols
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable populations
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some roles may require evening or weekend availability
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
