All DH custom cabinetry and woodwork is produced in-house. Our fully staffed and equipped millwork shop features CNC machining capability.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced, team player with excellent organizational and time management skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are a must. You will work closely with our clients, design team, field and office staff and all stakeholders. As an integral part of the team you will ensure that all projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Review all new pre-qualified project opportunities prior to an onsite consultation with owner & designer
Attend on site consultation at client’s home with owner & designer
Capture all pertinent site information (photos, measurements) at on site consultation to prepare for estimating process
PM is the primary point of contact for clients for all non-design related inquiries
Maintain open and consistent communication with client from first contact to post project follow up
Verbally establish budget parameters with client prior to engaging in any activities post consultation
Create scope of work and present alongside of working budget proposal to client. Include inspiration package provided by the design team
Secure signed Letter of Engagement from client to establish their commitment to complete the project with DH Designs
Work with the client and design team to ensure that the proposed design presented matches the agreed upon working budget
Work with the design team, review all design work prior to presenting drawings and renderings to the client to identify possible challenges with the deliverable, problem solve and provide secondary options if available
Secure estimates and pricing from all relevant sub-trades and vendors
Create detailed Construction Contract document from template and present to client for signature
Create site scope of work document for site binder
Order (including daily to weekly tracking & follow-ups using the Project Master Document) for all required materials and fixtures
Build project schedule in Builder Trend and keep up to date with changes, constantly communicating with the client and all departments and vendors as the project progresses to completion
Create Change Order documents for all contemplated changes to the scope of work from the original contract. Include necessary schedule adjustments (if required)
Create and send all applicable invoices as stage goals are completed, collect payments
Schedule trades, procurement, coordinate deliveries with field staff ensuring deliveries are completed and verified as ordered and on time
Problem-solve, point out discrepancies, create punch lists
Quality control, communicate and provide positive reinforcement and coaching to field staff
Follow-up with completed tasks from team, keep schedule up to date
Daily planning and managing of field staff schedule and assigned tasks
Deficiency review (punch list) with client prior to delivery, document information for reference
Assist in creating protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the entire team
All other assigned tasks, including but not limited to product research, building permit review and applications, interviewing and securing sub trades, ordering and inventory of shop stock of regular items
What you bring to the role:
5 years of experience in residential construction management and estimating
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in French is considered an asset, but not required
Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, City codes and regulations, industry standards
Experience with the Building Permit process, applications and inspections
Demonstrable proficiency with construction management software, specifically Builder Trend is considered an asset
Demonstrable proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office are required
Ability read and interpret plans, permit and engineer’s drawings
