Career Contacts is hiring on behalf of a non-profit organization that provides supportive housing. They have an immediate opening for a temporary Accounts Payable Administrator in their Vancouver office. This is an on-site position, reporting to the Finance Manager.
This role plays a key part in supporting the organization’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, solid experience with high-volume payables, and confidence working with financial systems such as Sage 300. You are organized, accurate, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Experience in a not-for-profit environment is considered a strong asset.
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Job Type: Full-time, temporary (1-month with possibility of extension)
Salary: $30 to $38 per hour, based on experience

Responsibilities:
- Manage high-volume accounts payable processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Perform rent and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain and update all accounting transactions within Sage 300
- Prepare and process bank payments and support daily cash management activities
- Process and track employee expense reimbursements
- Assist with maintaining accurate and organized financial records
- Support the preparation and review of financial reports and statements
- Ensure all financial documentation is properly filed and maintained
- Respond to internal finance-related inquiries and provide support as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth financial workflows and compliance
Requirements:
- Certificate or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in general accounting or bookkeeping roles
- Intermediate proficiency with Sage 300 is required
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Experience in a not-for-profit environment is considered an asset
- Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and strong customer service skills
