Coast Mountain GM is looking for a Service Advisor to join our Service Department. We’re a locally owned, community-focused GM dealership that has been serving Northern BC for over 30 years. We work hard, we laugh a lot, we support each other, and yes — some days the coffee (and occasional treats) are the only thing keeping the wheels turning.
Our Service Advisors are the connection between our customers and our technicians. You don’t need to know how to rebuild an engine (we have very talented people for that), but you do need to enjoy helping customers, staying organized, communicating clearly, and keeping all the moving pieces moving in the right direction.
What you’ll actually be doing:
● Welcoming customers and helping them through the service process
● Listening carefully and documenting vehicle concerns (detective skills encouraged)
● Creating and managing repair orders
● Scheduling appointments and keeping the shop workflow moving
● Communicating estimates, recommendations, and timelines
● Keeping customers updated — because nobody likes wondering where their vehicle disappeared to
● Working closely with technicians, parts, and the rest of our team
● Helping customers understand maintenance, repairs, warranties, and recalls
● Learning something new almost every day (vehicles like to keep things interesting)
You’ll be a great fit if you:
● Enjoy working with people and genuinely like helping customers. Strong verbal and written
● Can stay calm when there are 12 things happening at once
● Are organized, detail-oriented, and good at following processes
● Have strong communication skills (with customers and coworkers)
● Bring a positive attitude and a sense of humour
● Are comfortable using computers, learning new systems, and working with digital tools
● Have a valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
Bonus points for:
● Previous Service Advisor, automotive, or customer service experience
● Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repairs
● Experience with dealership systems like PBS, CDK, or Reynolds & Reynolds
● Familiarity with GM products
