We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support quality activities throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming inspection through final product release. The successful candidate will inspect electronic and mechanical components, support supplier quality initiatives, perform in-process and final inspections, and help ensure products meet company and customer quality standards. Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming electronic, mechanical, plastic, cable, and packaging components for quality and compliance.
- Verify supplier documentation, certifications, and inspection requirements.
- Record inspection results and maintain complete product traceability.
- Identify, document, and disposition non-conforming materials.
- Prepare supplier defect reports and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs).
- Coordinate supplier corrective action requests and follow up on resolutions.
- Monitor supplier quality performance and identify recurring trends.
- Support root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform in-process inspections throughout manufacturing.
- Audit production builds to ensure compliance with work instructions and quality standards.
- Verify product labels, serialization, firmware versions, and configuration.
- Review completed quality records for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct final visual inspections and verify cosmetic quality and workmanship.
- Confirm products meet shipping and customer requirements.
- Release finished goods to inventory following successful inspection.
- Troubleshoot PCB assemblies and diagnose production failures.
- Perform component replacement and solder rework as required.
- Support Engineering with product failure analysis and investigations.
- Frequent inspection and handling of electronic assemblies, PCBs, mechanical components, and finished products.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials or products weighing up to 40 lbs (18 kg).
Qualifications Required
- 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
- Electronics Engineering Technician diploma.
- Experience performing incoming inspection and quality assurance activities.
- Experience working with electronic products and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience using multimeters and other electronic test equipment.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- IPC certification is considered an asset
