Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Transportation Safety Supervisor to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and developing training programs that empower employees to maintain a safe working environment. This role is crucial in minimizing risks and fostering a proactive approach to safety across all operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety and log audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead safety training sessions for employees, focusing on best practices and emergency response protocols.
- Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
Experience
- Proven experience in a safety supervisory role or similar position within an transportation, industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of OHS regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Experience in training development, with the ability to create engaging training materials tailored to various audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey safety information to all levels of staff.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating risks and implementing effective solutions.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
