We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to support our accounting, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and day-to-day financial administration.
Role Overview
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting billing and invoicing processes, tracking receivables and payables, reconciling accounts, and ensuring bookkeeping tasks are completed accurately and on time.
This role is well suited to someone who is organized, comfortable working independently, and experienced with standard bookkeeping practices in a fast-paced service business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping
* Prepare, issue, and track customer invoices
* Support billing processes and ensure invoices are accurate and sent on time
* Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments
* Process accounts payable, including vendor bills and payment tracking
* Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
* Maintain accurate records of transactions, expenses, payments, and adjustments
* Assist with monthly financial reporting and bookkeeping close processes
* Organize and maintain digital financial documentation
* Coordinate with internal team members to resolve billing, payment, or documentation issues
* Support payroll, commissions, or contractor payment tracking as required
* Assist with GST/HST, tax preparation support, and year-end bookkeeping documentation
* Ensure bookkeeping records are complete, accurate, and up to date
Qualifications
* Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting administration, or a similar finance support role
* Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping practices
* Experience with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent organization and time management skills
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment
* Comfortable communicating by email, phone, and internal systems
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow up on missing or unclear information
* Proficiency with spreadsheets and standard office software
Preferred Experience
* Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, customs, warehousing, or another service-based industry
* Experience working with multi-currency transactions
* Familiarity with CargoWise One or other logistics/accounting systems
* Experience supporting collections or customer billing follow-up
* Familiarity with Canadian bookkeeping, GST/HST, and financial documentation requirements
