Olade Consulting is supporting a major public transit organization in sourcing up to two (2) highly experienced Senior Contract Administrators to join its Commercial Management team.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong post-award contract administration experience within large-scale operational, infrastructure, transit, or public-sector environments.
The successful consultants will play a key role in supporting transportation operations and maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, managing commercial risks, coordinating stakeholders, and supporting effective vendor performance management.
This is a fast-paced, high-accountability environment requiring strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, stakeholder management skills, and a solid understanding of commercial and contract administration practices.
Role Overview
The Senior Contract Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of transportation operation and maintenance contracts.
The role involves reviewing contract changes, vendor submissions, amendments, invoices, notices, claims, and contractual correspondence while ensuring alignment with TTC policies, commercial procedures, and contractual obligations.
The successful candidate will support commercial decision-making, mitigate contractual risks, maintain accurate contract records, and work closely with project teams, vendors, legal representatives, and management to resolve complex contractual matters.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration & Commercial Management
- Coordinate and administer day-to-day activities associated with transportation operations and maintenance contracts
- Manage post-award contract administration activities across assigned contract portfolios
- Ensure all contract activities comply with organizational policies, procedures, and contractual obligations
- Support commercial management processes and continuous improvement initiatives
Contract Review & Compliance
- Review and analyze:
- Contract amendments
- Change requests
- Invoices
- Vendor notices
- Claims
- Contractual correspondence
- Ensure vendor submissions comply with:
- Contract terms and conditions
- Scope requirements
- Commercial obligations
- Interpret and analyze tenders, contract documents, and contractual clauses to minimize organizational risk
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with:
- Project delivery teams
- Vendors
- Internal stakeholders
- Commercial management leadership
- Support resolution of vendor performance issues and contractual disputes
- Escalate complex or high-profile issues to Commercial Management leadership when required
Claims, Amendments & Risk Mitigation
- Analyze contract changes, claims, and amendments
- Support implementation of:
- Claims avoidance strategies
- Risk mitigation practices
- Commercial controls
- Assist with enforcement of contractual obligations, including:
- Penalty clauses
- Liquidated damages
- Contract compliance requirements
- Support legal and commercial negotiations where required
Contract Records & Reporting
- Maintain accurate contract records within the Contract Management System (CMS), including:
- Variations
- Amendments
- Correspondence
- Notices
- Invoices
- Monitor contract progress and prepare:
- Status reports
- Commercial updates
- Contract performance summaries
- Analyze internal data and provide reporting insights to management teams
Commercial Analysis & Process Improvement
- Identify contractual inconsistencies and operational risks
- Recommend process improvements to optimize contract administration activities
- Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control practices within contract management processes
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- Post-secondary diploma or university degree in:
- Business
- Finance
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Supply Chain
- Or a related discipline
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
- Contract Administration
- Procurement
- Commercial Management
- Experience within:
- Public sector
- Transit agencies
- Infrastructure
- Transportation operations
- Large operational environments
- Strong post-award contract management experience required

Work Environment
Primary Work Locations:

Hybrid Work Model:
- Primarily onsite
- Remote flexibility (2–3 days/week after onboarding and training)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 35 hours/week
- Start times may begin as early as 7:30 AM
- Overtime may occasionally be required based on operational needs
Contract Details
- Initial term: 1 year
- Extension option: Up to 2 additional years
- All-inclusive hourly billing rate model
- Rates apply up to 44 hours/week
Pay: $70.00-$100.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (Toronto District)
