Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying joint compound to drywall seams, taping, and finishing surfaces to ensure a smooth and professional appearance. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a team environment. Prior construction experience and knowledge of blueprint reading are highly valued. The Drywall Taper will contribute to the successful completion of residential and commercial projects, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and joints with precision and consistency
- Finish surfaces by sanding, smoothing, and preparing for painting or further finishing processes
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure accurate application of materials
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces
- Coordinate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to facilitate smooth workflow
- Maintain a clean work area by disposing of debris and organizing tools and materials efficiently
- Assist with caulking and minor carpentry tasks as needed to support project completion
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall taping, finishing, or related construction roles
- Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and handyman skills preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions
- Reliable work ethic with good communication skills
- Prior construction experience is highly desirable but not mandatory for motivated learners
