Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Rebar Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain rebar cutting and bending equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with CNC-controlled or manual bending and shearing machines and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient production of rebar components to meet project specifications.
Location: Delta, BC
Shift: Monday to Friday. Day shift 06:00 – 14:00; Afternoon shift 12:00 – 20:00. Some overtime may be required.

Job Duties
- Set up and operate rebar cutting, bending, and shearing machines, including CNC and manual equipment.
- Read and interpret production orders to determine specifications and ensure accuracy.
- Program CNC-controlled rebar bending machines as required.
- Monitor machine operation, making necessary adjustments to ensure precision and quality standards.
- Perform quality inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and angle finders.
- Maintain accurate production records, documenting completed work and any machine adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machines to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols, ensuring a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Mandatory Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to measure accurately.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods.
- Operate overhead crane, forklift, telehandler.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WorkSafeBC guidelines.
- Read, write, speak English

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience operating rebar bending, cutting, or shearing equipment
- Familiarity with CNC machine operation and programming: CNC mills/laths, roll formers, CNC press brakes, CNC folding machines, etc.
- Technical training or certifications in machine operation, welding, or metal fabrication.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, construction, or metal fabrication setting.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or certifications in machine operation, welding, or metal fabrication preferred.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, construction, or metal fabrication setting is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Industrial manufacturing facility with exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
- May involve overtime and shift work as needed to meet production demands.
Starting hourly rate: $26-$30 DOE
