Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metalworking, fabrication, and welding, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This role involves working with various tools and machinery to produce high-quality metal components for construction, ductwork, and other industrial applications. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications and dimensions.
- Operate welding equipment including MIG and TIG welders to join metal parts securely.
- Use plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to shape and assemble metal components.
- Perform rigging tasks for lifting and positioning heavy materials using cranes or forklifts.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers and other precision tools.
- Conduct quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure they meet specifications.
- Assist with assembly of ductwork, structural components, or other fabricated items according to project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols and proper equipment handling procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, and plasma cutting techniques.
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery such as press brake machines, machining tools, cranes, forklifts, and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with rigging and crane operation for lifting heavy materials safely.
- Familiarity with hand tools, calipers, basic math skills for measurements, and assembly processes.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards related to ductwork, construction components, or similar fields.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting requiring attention to detail.
